"The American Dream is that dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for every man, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement. It is a difficult dream for the European upper classes to interpret adequately, also too many of us ourselves have grown weary and mistrustful of it. It is not a dream of motor cars and high wages merely, but a dream of social order in which each man and each woman shall be able to attain to the fullest stature of which they are innately capable, and be recognized by others for what they are, regardless of the fortuitous circumstances of birth or position."

This series of images is taken from the 'Forgotten Dreams' Project; a view of The U.S.A. following the 2008 recession. The large city's flurrish and property prices continue to rise, while small towns which may be supported by one main industry hang on by a thread, ghost towns grow as industry closes or moves on. The 'America Dream' may be jaded and seem clichéd, however the optimism is still evident, there are fractious relationships within communities; where communities are left. The dreams are fading.
